COURSE DESCRIPTION

Eschatology (study of the end times) is a daunting task because of the largeness of the subject and the endless voices throughout church history. Our aim will be to seek the simple Jewish narrative that unfolds as a pattern from the law, prophets, gospels, epistles and the book of revelation. Jesus, our wise and faithful shepherd/teacher, lays out this narrative as a clear and succinct instruction in His Olivet discourse found in Matt 24-25, Mark 13, Luke 21. Prior to the 2nd coming of Jesus to establish His kingdom in Jerusalem, there will be a crisis of intense deception, extreme persecution and great tribulation. Jesus gave us precise instructions to not be deceived as we watch and pray for the unfolding of these events. How close are we to this unfolding crisis and the main event of the coming of Jesus?

 Reality 1: “Peace Covenant” (Daniel 9:27; Matthew 24:3)
 Reality 2: “Birth Pains” (Matthew 24:4-12)
 Reality 3: “Abomination of Desolation” (Matthew 24:15)
 Reality 4: “Great Tribulation” (Matthew 24:16-28)
 Reality 5: “Jesus’ 2nd Coming” (Matthew 24:29-31)
 Reality 6: “Day of the Lord” (Matthew 24:37-41)
 Reality 7: “Messianic Kingdom” (Matt 25:31)
 Conclusion: “Let the wise and faithful arise” (Daniel 11-12; Matthew 24:45; Luke 12:42)
